On Sunday 11^th July 2004 Echoes of Ellington led in turns by Pete Long and Peter Ripper played a concert of Ellington music at the regular Sunday lunchtime Big Band gig at Rayners Hotel, Rayners Lane, Harrow to celebrate the 70^th birthday of DES UK member Ted Gascoigne.

For this special occasion and due to Ted’s generosity admission was free of charge and a large crowd attended.
